Why this sequence?

Students learn new maths knowledge by connecting it to what they already know. If the Foundations are not strong, the learning built on top of this will be fragile.
The Y Intercept prioritises a strong foundation by developing strong connections between concepts, in a sequence teachers can simply follow.
